ARC.HV®(wip) is an idea dedicated to put light on the importance of community through experimental self initiated projects.
Our current projects vary across fields of art, architecture, design, engineering and fabrication.
The fusion of various disciplines and participants aids our process of creation.

Escaping the realm of solo practitioners, we strongly believe in the power of working together.
And are consciously focusing our energies towards establishing selfless approaches of creating.
We aim to achieve this by exploring various methods of collaborations with every new project
and thoroughly documenting them in this online archive.

ARC.HV® is currently fuelled by the time contributed by its participants.
We are open to more collaborations, ideas and conversations
and are willing to share/support them with all the resources we have.

Description:

In a time as challenging as that of a global pandemic, there is an insistence to negate the magnitude of it. As designers, we feel a grounding sense of calm in community and inspiration.

VIRTUAL GODS was created to investigate new methods of effective collaborations and exhibitions. This experimental exercise was initiated to facilitate an essence of togetherness during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown.

During an exchange that spanned across 3 weeks, various multi-disciplinary participants connected to trade new tools and design languages while discovering new processes & theories. The goal was to traverse a beautiful dialogue while manifesting unique 3D Virtual Worlds.
These 3D creations and their formation have been documented in form of
INDIA’S FIRST VIRTUAL GROUP ART EXHIBIT.
Virtual Gods is a development of our project Scarpin' which attempts to bridge the gap between architecture and visual media.
This years brief involved the participants to exchange their 2D illustrations with each other and reinterpret them to 3D compositions.

Aim:

To exercise the extents of virtual art, architecture, exhibition and collaboration.

The exhibition was live from 01st AUG- 31st AUG 2020 and has ended. If you missed it and want to request access

Description:Initiated through a group gathering on Sundays, VNDLS‘ objective is to discuss and map out issues relating to the future of local environments.
Instead of using “awareness” as a design trigger, the group focuses its goals towards vandalizing for the good. This allows us to put conscious focus on social design through quick guerrilla actions into our local urban landscape.
We intend to design alternate beneficial systems for humans, that investigate local issues which the group collectively identifies. This enables us to transition change in bits and pieces into the society, rather than providing temporary solutions to a long-standing problem.

Aim:
To look beyond awareness of local environmental issues, through Guerrilla Urban Interventions.

Description:An artistic practice of acting and reacting through mindful drawing. We explore our collective consciousness and develop our muscle memory into creating forms that the single mind wouldn’t explore by itself.

The practise is documented digitally and is guided by a set of simple rules that help in keeping everything uniform. One of the constant rules would be, not having a pre-understanding of what the art work would look like and not using the undo command.

Aim:
Meditating regularly through the act of drawing.

Description:T4D is an ode to 2 dimensional planar geometries attempting to create 3 dimensional forms. This transformation is investigated through an understanding of interlocking, stacking, folding, bending, and joining.
It enables one to understand the variables involved in creating quick sustainable products out of locally available sheet materials.

A collective of designers have translated this study into an open source design library
of sustainable products..

Aim:
To understand how to create 3D forms from 2D geometries.

Description:dev.SYS began as an ambition to make a simple geometric type set of Latin and Devanagari scripts sharing the same construction attributes.
This was acquired by defining a display typeface which expresses the complex Devanagri script in a minimal system and is concurrently followed by the glyph attributes of its Latin counterpart.

The study then attempted to map out the correlations between the anatomy of both the scripts.
Currently the study is being tested with other existing fonts that have variable grid systems for a broader understanding.

Aim:
To create a digital system that assists the conversion of existing Latin Display Typefaces into Devanagari format.

Description:An experimental kinetic form exploration that investigates basic geometries morphing into dynamic complex forms.
They are a result of a systematic composition of Multi-axial Pivot Mechanisms onto concentric polygons+solids.
This study documents physical mock ups by exploring fabrication techniques like 3D milling and printing.

Aim:
To understand Scalable Multiaxial Pivot Mechanisms in the digital and physical realm.

Description:The quest to find a link between architecture and graphic design drives these explorations. It gives hope to create a knot between these two worlds. The pleasure of projecting architecture in form of graphic media created this coherent visual world, which continues to be extended into something beautiful.
Initiated by expressing the complex geometries of Carlos Scarpa (Architect) in a visual format, the journey was later extended into a collaborative exercise.

Aim:
To express architecture through graphic design in form of digital and print media.
